TOBIAS BREDOHL

Tobias Bredohl is considered one of the most versatile pianists of his generation.

Born in Münster in 1974, he began playing the piano at the age of 6. In addition to piano, he also received organ lessons at an early age, so that he took up a position as a church musician in Münsterland in addition to his music studies with Prof. Gregor Weichert at the Detmold Academy of Music. He achieved success at national and international competitions at an early age: in addition to prizes at all levels at ‚Jugend musiziert‘, he achieved second place at the international piano competition in Karlsbad/Czech Republic in 1994, as well as at the Schubert competition in Dortmund in 1997 and at the Wartburg piano competition in Eisenach in 2001. After his studies, which he completed in 2004 with the concert exam, Tobias Bredohl was engaged for three years with the musical ‚Emil und die Detektive‘, first as director of the children‘s choirs in Berlin, then as musical director at the Operettenhaus Hamburg. Since 2009 he has been a lecturer at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf, where he has been a lecturer for special tasks since 2014. For many years now, Tobias Bredohl has been performing intensively as a soloist and chamber musician in many countries. He is always in demand as an accompanist at festivals and many competitions. He has also worked closely with many orchestras in the region for many years. His extensive oeuvre is documented on several CDs and radio recordings and has been honoured with several prizes (including the Förderpreis der Westfälischen Wirtschaft).
